Richard R. Brown Associates was established in 1985, as a full service, architectural, interior design, and planning practice. RBA is licensed in over 30 states, and has provided services throughout the United States and Mexico.
The firm excels in a diverse cross-section of project types, including corporate and governmental workspaces, hospitality projects, medical facilities, retail/lifestyle centers, high technology, and multi-family living environments. Throughout the tenure of the firm, RBA has assembled an expanding knowledge based around design innovation, project delivery, advances in construction technology, and cost/value analysis.

RBA has achieved fifteen design awards for the firm’s work, including three Honor Awards from the American Institute of Architects.
Services
RBA’s staff of professionals is led by Richard Brown, AIA, NCARB, the firm’s lead design architect, and Troy Downing, AIA, LEED, Associate Principal and production manager of the firm. Key members of the RBA staff include senior project architects/project managers Don Keen, Phillip Morgan, and Trushna Patel, who combine for over 100 years of architectural experience. In addition to the firm’s vast experience in design and production, RBA combines complementary young talent to work in concert with seasoned designers and technicians.
The firm’s Interior Design Division is led by Lee Ann Atkins, NCIDQ. Her experience includes finish design/selection, lighting design, furnishings design and specification, sustainable design, space planning, and graphic design. Interior designers combine with architectural staff to provide a seamless collaboration in project execution.
The RBA Information Technology and Visualization department is anchored by Robert Ederer, with expertise in state of the art graphics and computer technology. RBA is adept in computer modeling and animation as well as building information modeling (BIM). Technology serves as a valuable tool, both for design and production, as well as an important communication tool between architect and client/user.
