Civic Center Music Hall

Performing Arts Center
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Oklahoma City's premier performing arts venue underwent a comprehensive renovation led by RBA in collaboration with the Polshek Partnership of New York City and Jaffe Holden Scarborough Acoustics. The design involved a complete rebuild of the iconic Art Deco structure, which is often compared to a Fabergé egg, featuring a blue plaster curved façade and bright, sophisticated finishes.

This project played a crucial role in the initial OKC MAPS revitalization efforts. Key elements of the renovation included a new backstage addition and the restoration of the Hall of Mirrors.

The comprehensive interior renovation of the historic Civic Center Music Hall was designed to accommodate major theatrical, dance, and musical performances. The renovation includes a multi-story atrium, balconies, box seats, private suites, exceptional acoustics, and a hydraulic orchestra pit.

At the heart of the Music Hall is the Thelma Gaylord Performing Arts Theatre, a "building within a building" that is nestled inside the original shell of the Municipal Auditorium.
